Description
Large canopy which crosses over the building mass that
starting from the entrance point towards the other side of the railway system is designed in
order to create protected areas from rain and also provided shadowed open spaces. On the
other hand, this canopy becomes a platform to create a base for solar panels which produce
self energy of the building. The building facades is designed as exposed concrete in order to
highlight the form of the mass and to support the use of local materials. It is aimed to design the
new station building as such a simple, natural and naked like its own environment besides in
this way not only the integration with its own environment is provided, but also provided to light
reflection visual effects on blind walls by inner lights come from the mass inside designed as
glass totally.
The facades of central waiting hall are covered by transparent glass in design,in order to
provide permeability into the green areas situated both sides. By designing these both sides of
the waiting hall as social spaces including cafe and restaurant which have visual communication
between inside and green outside, it is provided to have spaces that are used all day long.
Building mass extended towards the tree groups and converted into a wall that creates sitting
platform is created for passengers. The existing middle platform is designed as an open-air
museum and art gallery that can be used for exhibitions and by this way it is provided to make
the site 24 hour living space.
